South Sudan’s opposition faction in Western Bahr al Ghazal State has accused government troops of targeted killings of nine civilians including four women in separate incidents in Wau town.
Col. Nicola Gabriel Adam, spokesperson of the SPLA-IO in Wau, told Radio Tamazuj yesterday that the government forces killed nine villagers who were heading to Wau town with their agricultural products last week. Nicola further said the government forces looted citizen’s agricultural products.
Meanwhile, an elderly woman who as among the group that was allegedly attacked by the government forces confirmed the incident. She told Radio Tamazuj that they were 14 women and 10 men riding motorcycles carrying agricultural products for sale.
The old lady pointed out they left their products after the attack by the government force near Wau. “The motorcyclists left everything behind and fled, and we all ran away and left our products, I arrived at 12:00 pm,”She said.
