SPLA-IO accuses govt troops of attacks in Unity, Yei River states

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj this afternoon, Lam stated that the government attacked their position in the area of Mundu in Yei River State from yesterday until today morning.

The opposition official said fighting was continuing in Mundu. He added that their defensive position in the area of Mirimir in Southern Liech State came under attack by government forces this afternoon.

However, the deputy spokesman did not give further details about losses from their side.

For his part, the military spokesman for the SPLA army, Maj. Gen. Lul Ruai Koang, said that the accusations by the opposition that they attacked Mundu were not true.

Instead, he accused the opposition of ambushing their convoy in the area of Mirmir this morning.
