The Chief of General Staff, Paul Malong and the head of the Presidential Guards, Marial Chanuong, with the help of a GPS company began marking the coordinates of the new locations at the end of the week, Eye Radio reported.

According to General Malong, the demilitarization of Juba will begin once the new locations are approved by the general command. He said the army will seek permission to use the land from the Central Equatoria state government.

The assessment of the new army bases was done along the Juba-Bor road, Juba-Torit road and the Juba-Nimule road.

One of the areas that has been identified is Kit- 1 (One) along Juba – Nimule road. The area is 25 kilometers from Juba.

The team was expected to move to the roads along Juba – Kajokeji, Juba – Yei, Juba – Maridi and Juba – Terekeka next.
