One resident was arrested this morning by SPLA soldiers in Yei town, according to witnesses.
The witness alleged that the man who was arrested was seen wearing army boots and was dragged by four SPLA and one plainclothes personnel while being flogged by sticks from the streets until the military station near the police station.
Another eyewitness, Mawa Lexion, who said the arrested is his relative, explained that his relative is serving in the army in the Upper Nile region but arrived home a few days ago to see family and relatives.
He claimed that the SPLA arrested his relative for wearing the army boots while in plain clothes.
The arrest follows an incident in which three guns were stolen from a police post in the TTC area three days ago. Residents in TTC said on Monday evening they were frightened by the sound of gunshots causing them to fear for their lives, though the gunshots quickly subsided.
They said one police officer was wounded in the head and is being treated in Yei hospital.
