Southerners in North Darfur ask for help to emigrate back

South Sudanese citizens living in the area of Alleit-Jar Alneby in the North Darfur state have appealed to aid organizations and authorities in South Sudan to deport them back to their areas in Northern Bahr El Ghazal state.

Some of them told Radio Tamazuj that there are large numbers of southern families living in the different area of the North Darfur under miserable conditions due to poor living conditions in the region.

Southerners report being attacked by the janjaweed repeatedly, but for years have no recourse. Rather, their mistreatment has even increased since the secession of the south last year.

Most of the South Sudanese in Alleit area were working as farmers and laborers, but now these work opportunities have ceased.

They said they are looking forward for the aid organizations and national authorities in order to transport them back to their homelands at the nearest time possible.
