South Sudan’s Kiir in Ethiopia for 37th AU summit

South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir has arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to participate in the 37th African Union Heads of State and Government Summit.

South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir has arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to participate in the 37th African Union Heads of State and Government Summit.

Upon his arrival at Bole International Airport Thursday, Kiir was welcomed by Ethiopia’s Peace Minister Binalf Andualem and Foreign Affairs State Minister Birtukan Ayano.

The summit will be held this weekend under the theme, “Educate an African fit for the 21st Century: Building resilient education systems for increased access to inclusive, lifelong, quality, and relevant learning in Africa.”

Leaders of African countries have arrived in Addis Ababa ahead of the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union which will be held from 17th to 18th February 2024.
