South Sudanese who fled to Darfur face humanitarian crisis

More than 1,000 South Sudanese who have migrated to Darfur because of food insecurity are facing severe humanitarian conditions, sources tell Radio Tamazuj.

Activists in the Abu Jabra region of East Darfur say the refugees are living in the open, lacking food and basic resources.

“There is widespread of diseases like diarrhea and death among the refugees, especially children” one activist said.

The activist said the refugees have not received any assistance from humanitarian organizations, and called on them to urgently provide resources.
