South Sudanese slain in Ed Daein, Darfur
A stranded South Sudanese national in Ed Daein Locality in Sudan’s East Darfur State was reportedly killed by unknown criminals on Wednesday night.
The victim was identified by a traditional leader as Dut Biar.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Thursday from the town, Chief Deng Maluk stated one suspect has been arrested but the other managed to escape.
He noted the stranded Sudanese in Ed Daein Locality have been facing difficulties since 2011.
“We are fed up with the security situation here, the area is becoming worse, because the Arab tribes who are from Ed Daein killed a South Sudanese citizen who was living in the area at night,” he explained.
He called on the national government in Juba and the humanitarian organizations to transport them to South Sudan as soon as possible.
