South Sudanese given until April 15 to normalise status

Khartoum has announced that South Sudanese citizens will need to normalise status after April 15.

Following this date, state and local authorities will take the necessary measures against the 'illegal presence of foreigners' according to the government.

There are around two million South Sudanese currently still in and around Khartoum.

Rights group worry how the status of illegal foreigner will be played out in practice and who exactly will be deemed 'illegal'.
