A six-year-old South Sudanese boy suffered a fractured skull and is in a coma in a hospital in neighboring Kenya after falling from the balcony of his family’s third-floor apartment over the weekend.

A six-year-old South Sudanese boy suffered a fractured skull and is in a coma in a hospital in neighboring Kenya after falling from the balcony of his family’s third-floor apartment over the weekend.

The incident occurred in the Ruiru area of Kiambu County on Saturday.

The boy’s mother, Nyasalam Majang, told Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday that her son, Nhial Majang fell while playing with children in the apartment.

"The child was playing with other children in the balcony when he fell. At the time of the incident, we were sleeping in the rooms when the children came and told us Nhial had fallen from the balcony,” she explained.

The mother said the boy suffered fractures on his head and right hand, pointing out that Nhial is still in a coma in the intensive care unit.

Majang said her son is receiving treatment in Thika Hospital, but still in a coma.
