South Sudan will enter Abyei if Sudanese forces do not withdraw

The government of South Sudan has threatened to control Abyei militarily if the Sudanese government does not withdraw its troops from the disputed region.

At a ceremony to mark the withdrawal of troops from Abyei a senior South Sudanese official said that if the Sudanese government does not withdraw its troops by May 15, South Sudan will be required to intervene militarily to control Abyei.
