South Sudan’s VP heads delegation to Khartoum

South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir sent his deputy James Wani Igga to the Sudanese capital Khartoum to participate in a signing ceremony for the Renaissance Dam project.

South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir sent his deputy James Wani Igga to the Sudanese capital Khartoum to participate in a signing ceremony for the Renaissance Dam project.

Leaders from Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia signed a declaration of principles on Monday relating to Ethiopia’s Renaissance Dam on a tributary of the River Nile.

President Kiir had been expected to attend along with ministers and other regional dignitaries including Ugandan president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and African Union and IGAD officials.
