South Sudan’s foreign minister Barnaba Marial Benjamin said he will travel to Cairo tomorrow to arrange a visit for President Salva Kiir in response to an invitation from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el Sisi.

Marial was speaking upon his return from the United Nations General Assembly summit in New York, where he said Sisi met with Kiir on the sidelines.

“Abdel Fattah Sisi has invited President Salva Kiir to visit Egypt and President Kiir accepted the visit to Cairo, and that is why tomorrow I will travel to Egypt at the invitation of Egyptian minister of foreign affairs to see and make arrangements for the visit of president to the Arab Republic of Egypt,” Marial said.

The date of Kiir’s visit is not fixed but is likely to be next week, according to the foreign minister.
