South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Mayardit is scheduled to travel to the Sudanese capital, Khartoum next week. The President will hold talks with his Sudanese counterpart Omar Al-Bashir to discuss outstanding issues between the two countries.
Sudan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ibrahim Ghandour said in a press statement in Khartoum that South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir is expected to visit Khartoum on 31 October.
For his part, South Sudan’s presidential spokesman, Ateny Wek Ateny said that President Kiir will visit Khartoum. However, Ateny did not mention a specific date for Kiir's visit.
President Salva Kiir on Wednesday requested the Trump administration to play its role in mending and helping to improve South Sudan relations with neighbouring Sudan.
