South Sudan’s Kiir to visit Khartoum next week

South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Mayardit is scheduled to travel to the Sudanese capital, Khartoum next week. The President will hold talks with his Sudanese counterpart Omar Al-Bashir to discuss outstanding issues between the two countries.

Tut Gatluak, the presidential adviser on security affairs, said President Kiir’s visit to Khartoum will focus on economic cooperation between the two countries, besides the outstanding issues.

A high-level delegation including the presidential advisor on security affairs, Tut Gatluak, finance minister, Stephen Dhieu, petroleum minister, Ezekiel Lol and minister of commerce, Moses Hassan arrived in Khartoum on Tuesday ahead of Kiir’s visit.

Sudan’s Minister of Investment, Mubarak Al-Fadil, said in a press statement that that the visit came after consultations between the two sides on how to develop economic and trade relations between the two countries.
