South Sudan's Kiir leaves for China

South Sudanese president Salva Kiir on Monday left for China to attend the third Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

Kiir, his press office said, is accompanied by the minister of foreign affairs, Nhial Deng Nhial, Minister of petroleum, Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth, Minister of Roads and Bridges, Rebecca Joshua Okwaci, minister in the office of the president, Mayiik Ayii Deng and several military and security officials as well as business representatives.

During his visit to the China capital Beijing, President Kiir is scheduled to hold a sideline meeting with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping and other African leaders, who would attend the summit.

The press office pointed out that the visit will also be an opportunity for President Kiir to reassure potential investors to come to the country since peace process is being concluded.
