South Sudan President Salva Kiir has arrived in Khartoum this morning to attend talks with his former deputy Riek Machar.

The East African regional bloc IGAD has tasked Sudan’s President Omar al-Bashir to facilitate a face-to-face between President Salva Kiir and rebel leader Riek Machar in Khartoum today.

President Kiir touched down at Khartoum International Airport. He was received by his Sudanese counterpart Omar al-Bashir.
