South Sudan's Kiir appoints 10 top advisors

South Sudan's President Salva Kiir has issued a decree appointing a ten member presidential advisory team, just a week after appointing his cabinet.

According to the broadcast by the state-owned South Sudan Television, Kiir appointed former Central Equatoria State Governor Clement Wani Konga as the presidential advisor for special affairs. The decree did not elaborate on what his duties would be.

He also appointed Daniel Awet Akot, a top official in the SPLM secretariat hailing from Lakes State, as his advisor for military affairs.

Tor Deng Mawien was appointed advisor for decentralization and intergovernmental linkages, Tut Kew Gatluak as advisor for security affairs, and John Gai Yoh as advisor for educational affairs.

Aggrey Tisa Sabuni was reappointed as economic affairs advisor.

Lawrence Korbandy was again reappointed as the legal affairs advisor and Anne Itto as advisor for agriculture and food security.

Tahir Bior was made religious affairs advisor and Nhial Deng Nhial was appointed as senior advisor and presidential envoy.
