The technical staff of the South Sudan school basketball team has chosen 10 girls to participate in the East African school championship to be held in Gulu, Uganda on the 20th of this month.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, the coach of South Sudan's girls' basketball team, Robert Mayik Mayom, said they are now prepared for the school tournament after two years of absence.
“We are determined to achieve satisfactory results this year, our basketball team is excellent and South Sudan is our first priority.”
The team’s captain Susan Awal also said that the team is fully determined this time to bring the trophy home “This season is not bad and there are no major injuries from the players, we are serious this time to bring the trophy back home.”
The first basketball tournament of the girls' team will be on the 20th of this month in Gulu, Uganda.
