South Sudan’s former minister without portfolio has died in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum.

South Sudan's former minister without portfolio has died in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum.

Family confirmed that Priscilla Nyanyang Kuch died on Sunday. The cause of her death has not yet been released by the family.

Current and former government officials condoled with the family praying that God should comfort and give them peace during this time of mourning.

They mourned the late Nyanyang as a leader who served the nation diligently.

During her time in politics, the deceased served as minister without portfolio as well as deputy minister for gender, child and social welfare between 2011 and 2014.

 Between 2005 and 2010, she served as a Member of Parliament.

Nyanyang pursued Medicine at the University of Khartoum where she attained a bachelor’s degree in 1978.

She also received her master's degree in Community Medicine from the University of Khartoum in 1987.

Nyanyang hailed from Eastern Bahr Naam County of Western Lakes State. She was born in 1947.
