Nhial Deng Nhial, a presidential advisor on foreign affairs doubling as special envoy for President Salva Kiir, has called on the citizens to restrain themselves from being confrontational with the region.

Nhial argued that a hostile approach to regional pressure for more peacekeepers in the country would result in a negative reputation for the country internationally.

“We need to tone down. We don’t have to be confrontational; after all, we are part of IGAD and AU. It will give bad impression to the country,” said Nhial in a statement broadcast by the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation on Wednesday.
