South Sudan President Salva Kiir approves Aweil legislative assembly

South Sudan's President Salva Kiir has approved members of parliament for the proposed Aweil State.

A copy of the republican decree No.148/2016 made 8 March 2016 reads: “In exercise conferred upon me under article 164(1) (b) of the Transitional Constitution of the Republic of South Sudan 2011, (as amended), I, Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic of South Sudan, do hereby issue this republican decree for the appointment of Members of Aweil State Legislative Assembly.”

The Aweil State Parliament chairperson for information committee Benson Upothmalo said the members have a big role to play in serving their communities. He urged them to join their efforts in supporting the parliament and the government activities.

The following is the list of the appointed members of Aweil State Legislative Assembly as announced last week by the State Parliament:

-Garang Majak Bol, SPLM, Constituency No.15

-Issac Maku Ayok, SPLM, Constituency No.16

-Jiel Mangok Yel, SPLM, Constituency No.17

-David Puot Alich, SPLM, Constituency No.18

-Addrew Lual Buola, SPLM, Constituency No.20

-Santion Mayuat Ngong, SPLM, Constituency No.21

-Deng Ayom Ayom, SPLM, Constituency No.22

-Kon Deng Chan, SPLM, Constituency No.27

-Aguer Wol Aguer, SPLM, Constituency No.28

-Frencise  Yel Abuyo, SPLM, Constituency No.29

-Salva Door Geng, a Member of SPLM party, was appointed to replace the deceased Athiang Manok Athiang, who was a representative of Gakrol Constituency No 19.
