The acting secretary general of the South Sudan Popular Congress Party has called on the parties of the transitional government of national unity to fully implement the peace agreement signed in August last year.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Musa al-Mek Kur urged the new government to save South Sudan from collapse.

“We call on all parties participating in the government to forget the past and save the country from collapse,” Kur said.

He however criticized the peace agreement which gives the ruling SPLM party 97% of political power in South Sudan.

Kur also called on the government to prioritize the needs for the next coming period starting from ensuring stability and economic reforms and giving space to other political parties.
