A South Sudanese politician turned a good governance activist said he would continue to point out areas requiring public attention in the management of the affairs of the people by the government of President Salva Kiir, despite threat on his life.

A man lives once and then dies; hence he who has something to die for cannot be frightened by threats of demise or kidnapping. Although your threats are real, I will continue to advocate and stand by good governance and protection of humans liberty, human rights and if need be I can die by them. Therefore, there is no going back from the above stance. Stop wasting your time threat mangers, wrote Wol Deng Atak on his Facebook page

Wol continued to add “A friend told me “you wrote many articles most of which were not heeded by the authorities, but have taken place after the warning, subsequently, increased the suffering of the citizens”. Thus, my friend told me “stop writing and let’s watch the rest unfold to the regret of authorities in Juba”. My question is: should I stop writing or continue? “.

He later said he decided to go ahead with writing on critical public matters because man lives once and it would be better he dies for a cause should that be the consequences of his writings.
