South Sudan peace monitors hail Kiir for unveiling national dialogue initiative

 Festus Mogae, head of South Sudan peace monitoring group has on Tuesday congratulated President Salva Kiir on his introduction of the National Dialogue initiative, declaring his support for the initiative.

“I am delighted to hear President Kiir reach out to his people with such strong and heartfelt words and launch this much-needed National Dialogue initiative.

“The President has seized a critical opportunity for national reconciliation, appealed for a spirit of forgiveness and togetherness and set in motion a genuine campaign to address the concerns and grievances of the South Sudanese people.

“I applaud his leadership and I give my assurance that JMEC will support the National Dialogue in any way we can.”

He was reacting to a speech of president on Tuesday at the national parliament where he declared he and his two deputies in the government of national unity would work together to end the conflict.
