South Sudan lauds Turkey’s pledge to provide training in taxation administration

South Sudan’s government has welcomed a pledge by Turkey to train more employees of the ministry of finance on how to manage and administer non-oil revenues.

South Sudan’s government has welcomed a pledge by Turkey to train more employees of the ministry of finance on how to manage and administer non-oil revenues.

This comes during a meeting between South Sudan’s minister of finance Stephen Dhieu Dau and his Turkish counterpart Naci Agbal on Thursday.

Minister Stephen Dhieu briefed the Turkish official on the general situation in South Sudan and thanked him and the Turkish Ministry of Finance for allowing officials from South Sudan Ministry of Finance and Planning who are now getting trained in different fields in Turkey.

For his part, Turkey’s minister of finance Naci Agbal  expressed interest and offered to train free of charge more officials and staff from the South Sudan Ministry of Finance and Planning in the areas of Tax Administration, Internal Audit, Taxation, Budget Preparation and Budget Execution and Procurement.

 He asked both the Undersecretaries from South Sudan’s Ministry of Finance and Planning and the Turkish Ministry of Finance to start the communication right away in regards to the offer.
