The ministry of interior has cancelled the recent order issued by health minister Riek Gai and reinstated the use of a ‘Police Investigation Form 8’ before administering treatment of emergency cases in hospitals and private clinics.

The ministry of interior has cancelled the recent order issued by health minister Riek Gai and reinstated the use of a ‘Police Investigation Form 8’ before administering treatment of emergency cases in hospitals and private clinics.

“Form 8 is one of the evidence that is required by law during investigations. As the minister after consultations with the department of justice, I hereby nullify the order of the former IGP and reinstate the use of Form 8 as mandatory,” interior minister, Michael Chiangjiek told reporters in Juba today.

He pointed out that Form 8 is very important during investigations. “Form 8 is crucial and must be used today onwards,” he said.

Last week, South Sudan's health ministry Riek Gai Kok cancelled the use of Form 8 saying treatment of emergency cases was a challenge in the country.
