South Sudan FVP to meet US officials over peace implementation

South Sudan’s First Vice President Taban Deng Gai will hold meetings with top officials in the United States to explain circumstances under which he replaced ousted vice president Riek Machar and his program in peace implementation, according to South Sudan embassy in the United State.

South Sudan’s First Vice President Taban Deng Gai will hold meetings with top officials in the United States to explain circumstances under which he replaced ousted vice president Riek Machar and his program in peace implementation, according to South Sudan embassy in the United State.

According to a statement from the South Sudanese embassy in the United States, the US Congress accepted to hear from Taban Deng about how to implement the peace agreement in South Sudan.

The embassy pointed out that the visiting South Sudanese vice president will also meet officials in the White House and US State Department to discuss humanitarian assistance and the deployment of the protection force in South Sudan.
