South Sudan’s First Vice President Taban Deng Gai arrived in Juba today from his trip to the United States of America where he attended the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Speaking to reporters at Juba Airport this afternoon, Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth, South Sudan’s Minister of Petroleum, said that the First Vice President met with world leaders to brief them on progress in implementation of the peace agreement.

“South Sudan is an issue, it is a topic in the United Nations and the international body, we were so excited and happy to get messages from the world leaders, so the mission has been accomplished,”said Lol.

Lol, who is also an ally of Taban Deng, pointed out that they discussed investment opportunities with Arab investors during their trip to America.

“When we were on the way also, we were stopped by the United Arab Emirates to engage investors, those who will be interested to invest in South Sudan, the message from the investors was very positive because they are seeing hope,”he said.
