South Sudan football team trains to face Benin

South Sudan's national football team is training to face the Benin national team on 23 March 2016 as part of the African Nations Cup 2017 qualifier in Gabon.

The team started training with the participation of 15 players in Juba Stadium since 12 March 2016, headed by coach Bilal Flex at morning and evening.

Bilal said the team is expecting the arrival of four players from Australia and two from Germany besides the professional players in Sudan, for a total number of training participants of 30 players.

South Sudan occupies second place with 3 points in Group C, which includes Mali in first place with 4 points, Benin in third place with 2 points, and Equatorial Guinea in fourth place with one point.

South Sudan lost its first match against Mali with two goals to nil on 13 June 2015 and defeated Equatorial Guinea on 5 September in South Sudan.

South Sudan will meet Benin in the second leg on 27 March in Benin, while the second leg with Mali will be in South Sudan on 3 June, and the second leg with Equtorial Guinea will be in Equatorial Guinea on 2 September.
