Louise Nathale, the deputy of South Sudan’s National Security Service chief Akol Kur, has been arrested for allegedly ordering security personnel to shoot at a vehicle convoy of the US embassy in Juba, Radio Tamazuj can report.
Radio Tamazuj reported the shooting of the US embassy car on Friday afternoon. No independent information has connected Nathale or the National Security Service to the shooting, however.
Louise Nathale belongs to the Balanda ethnic group from Western Bahr el Ghazal state, where violence erupted in the capital late last month. Several other prominent Balanda have been arrested recently including the now ousted governor Elias Waya.
