Citizens told Radio Tamazuj that they don’t have enough clean water. “The town is witnessing a severe water crisis for over a week,” one Babanusa townsman said. The price of a barrel of water has risen from 3 to 10 pounds. Authorities attributed the cause of the crisis to the breakdown of one main borehole, but said that repair work is underway. Residents also compained of blackouts in most neighborhoods, saying electricity only reaches the hospital and government headquarters. They demanded that the government intervene to solve the crises.
