A refugee from South Kordofan was killed in Juba yesterday in front of passers-by, witnesses said. It is not yet confirmed whether the killer has been arrested.
Haider Musa, a refugee from South Kordofan, worked as a driver for the new South Sudan Commercial Bank. He entered into a verbal argument with a man in Juba market yesterday, at which point the killer him dead. The victim was transferred immediately to Juba Teaching Hospital.
Ismail Selim, the brother of the victim, said that the suspected killer was pursued by security forces as well as three civilians on motorcycles. The suspect’s car overturned at Khor Rumla, on the east side of the Nile, he said.
A security source confirmed that the suspect’s vehicle was found in Khor Rumla, and added that the vehicle was registered in Juba. He said security were dispatched to search for the registered owner of the car.
The brother of the victim said that he was informed that the suspected killer was arrested, but this has not been confirmed.
The victim has not yet been buried. Witnesses added that the victim had a long relationship with the killer, including a financial one.
