The state government of South Kordofan has issued an order reinstating 23 civil servants, who were dismissed when the war erupted against the Sudan People's Liberation Army-North (SPLA-N) in the province.

A source confirmed that the 23 individuals have resumed work in the local administrations of Umm Dorein, Heiban, Buram, and east village localities controlled by the SPLA-N.

One of the reinstated civil servants who preferred not to be identified, told Radio Tamazuj they have already been paid one-month's salary and the Governor promised them a total of two years pay.

The South Kordofan Governor has reportedly organized a reception ceremony for the reinstated civil servants.
