South Africa’s Vice President Cyril Ramaphosa arrived in South Sudan’s capital Juba on Thursday to attend a two-day SPLM extraordinary convention taking place on 7-8 January.
In a statement at Juba Airport upon arrival, Ramaphosa’s office said he will exert efforts to reunify the SPLM party in accordance with the Arusha agreement.
Ramaphosa will return to South Africa later today, Friday, according to his office.
Ramaphosa and with Abdurrahman Kinana, the Secretary-General of Tanzania’s ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi party, have been involved helping reuinte South Sudan’s split SPLM party.
