A woman and her daughter were reportedly killed and three others wounded in an attack by a soldier in Damazin town in Sudan’s Blue Nile state on Tuesday.
A local source told Radio Tamazuj that the woman killed was having a dispute with a soldier serving in the People’s Defence Forces over a piece of land.
The soldier reportedly rejected a court ruling in favour of the woman and he stormed the women’s house with a Kalashnikov.
The shooting resulted in the killing of the woman and her daughter, besides the wounding of three other family members. The wounded were taken to Damazin Hospital for treatment.
Police authorities are still pursuing the perpetrator after a criminal case was opened under articles 031 and 91 (premeditated murder) of the Sudanese penal code.
