A footballer of Al-Mariekh FC died after he collapsed during a prentice exercise in Kuacjok town in South Sudan’s Gogrial state last week, the team’s coach announced.

The late was identified as Akol and was the team’s striker.

The coach of Al Mariekh FC Mr. Juwiir told Radio Tamazuj that the incident occurred shortly during the practice exercise when the late collapsed on the field and died on the spot, adding the cause of death remains unclear.

He pointed out that Akol’s death is a great loss to Al-Mariekh team and the entire football association in the state.
