Traders at Marol market in Bor town have complained over uncollected smelly garbage in the market.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj told Radio Tamazuj on Saturday, several shopkeepers said that the garbage has remained uncollected for several weeks.
The furious traders appealed to the relevant authorities to ensure that those responsible attend to their duties.
“The garbage has been there for one month. They charge us 1,000 SSP monthly for the garbage, but it takes them several days to collect the garbage,” one of the traders said.
A restaurant owner, on condition of anonymity, said the garbage has not yet been collected around her restaurant.
“Sometimes our customers blame us for uncollected garbage but it is not our problem because we pay every month. The smelly garbage is keeping our customers away, “she said.
For his part, the Mayor of Bor Town, James Gai urged the traders to be patient saying he had directed municipal officials to collect the garbage.
