Six killed in horrific Port Sudan traffic accident

A ghastly traffic accident in the Kilo area of Red Sea State claimed the lives of six passengers who were traveling from Sudan’s Nile River State to Port Sudan, the traffic police said.

A ghastly traffic accident in the Kilo area of Red Sea State claimed the lives of six passengers who were traveling from Sudan’s Nile River State to Port Sudan, the traffic police said.

The Sudanese Traffic Police Press Office attributed the accident to improper overtaking by a bus that led to the death of six passengers in a double cabin pickup.

“The cause of the accident was due to incorrect overtaking as a bus driver tried to overtake another the bus which resulted in the pickup colliding with the bus and flipping off the road,” the police statement said.

The Highway Traffic Police, under the supervision of Colonel Nour Al-Daim Sayed Ahmed Muhammad, the Director of the Red Sea Highway Traffic Department, rushed to the scene and took the dead bodies to the Port Sudan Hospital mortuary and proceeded to clear the road for normal flow of traffic.
