A market in Kadugli town of Sudan’s South Kordofan state was thrown into chaos following sporadic shooting by the Sudanese defense forces during an effort to demolish shops in the market.
Sources told Radio Tamazuj that the incident happened when the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) tried to demolish some shops in Kadugli market amid rejection from the owners of the shops.
This move led to sporadic shooting by the army and police. Among the injured there were some citizens and soldiers who were taken to the military hospital in Kadugli. The sources said the demolition process has been halted following the shooting.
