Several citizens told Radio Tamazuj that the crisis started with an increase in gas canister prices, pointing out that a cylinder of cooking gas costs over 300 SDG if found.

Local residents grumbled about the scarcity of cooking gas. Many people were also seen lining up at shops selling cooking gas.

The cooking gas shortage has hit other parts of the country too.
