One person was wounded from gunfire when heavy shooting broke out in Pochalla town of the Greater Pibor Administrative Area on Tuesday night, sources on the ground said.
Residents retuned to their homes on Wednesday. The situation remains calm but unpredictable.
The incident occurred after a dispute after a trader refused to allow military personnel to inspect his vehicle which was reportedly carrying food, sources said.
Traders and some men on the truck then started shooting, and the military responded. The traders abandoned their truck with their goods.
Earlier this year several people were killed and more injured following clashes between SPLA and Anyuak King’s Guards in Pochalla, and there remains tension between Pochalla North and South.
