Gunshots started at dawn today in Magwi County of South Sudan’s Eastern Equatoria state with light guns being fired and at least one sound of heavy gun, residents confirmed to Radio Tamazuj as of 6:15 am.
One resident said the shooting started at police and prisons areas, and anyone out of their homes have been running.
“Most of the people are still inside, but I am now out, and there was serous shooting at around five to six, but now they are shooting one by one,” he said.
Another resident told Radio Tamazuj he could not understand the reason for the shooting.
