Shisha banned in N. Bahr al-Ghazal capital

Shisha smoking has been banned in public places in Aweil, capital of Northern Bahr al-Ghazal state, by order of the town mayor.

The mayor Debek Atak said the main reason of forbidding shisha in Aweil Town was that its effects can be severely harmful especially for pregnant women and children.

In a public order, the mayor warned that anyway smoking shisha in a public place will face the law, incurring penalties of termination of license, confiscation of all contents of shisha and a fine.

Atak added that shisha appeared in South Sudan in 2006 and it should go back to the place where it came from.
