Shelling restarts in Malakal

Fighting resumed Thursday afternoon in Malakal, the capital of South Sudan's Upper Nile state.

The Minister of Information of the state told Radio Tamazuj that the forces of Johnson Olony were shelling the town.

Staff and aid workers in the United Nations base near the town have taken refuge in their bunkers.

Olony's forces have clashed with government troops in Malakal since Tuesday night.
