The recent shelling of Renk, Upper Nile could have a negative impact on primary and secondary school examinations which are expected to begin soon, the county commission has said.
Shelling from the west bank of the Nile injured 14 people on Monday and forced hundreds to flee the town.
Commissioner Lual Deng Chol told Radio Tamazuj that about 18 houses were destroyed as well.
The top county official called upon the rebels to adhere to the ceasefire agreement and other agreements reached with the government.
