Sennar students union demands entitlements

The students union at Sennar University is demanding entitlements from the university administration saying that the funds will help students.

Head of Student Union at Sennar University Hassan Mohamed Hassan Noah said that the university administration has delayed and refused to pay entitlements of the Student Union which are the monthly payments for the union, in addition to the assets which should be managed by the Union like the cafeterias within the university.

He complained that the financial benefits of the union have been refused since the last union election in May this year. Also he criticized the administration for closing the university without justifications. The National Students Fund has colluded with the administration, according to the Union, failing to maintain dormitories earlier this year.

The administration’s offer to the union of 500 pounds as monthly payments has been rejected. Hassan added that they have raised a memorandum to the university administration containing all the demands of the union and threatened that the student masses will be able to force decisions if the university administration is unable to meet their demands.
