Sennar farmers complain of high production costs

Farmers from Sennar state, Sudan have complained about economic and manpower challenges faced during the harvest and planting season.

Warning of expensive production costs, farmer Farah Ahmed told Radio Tamazuj that agricultural season in Sennar state can generally be described as good, pointing to high productivity. However, he complained that labour shortages have raised the harvest costs and, in turn, the cost of the produce.

Ahmed claimed that while the agricultural season this year was an overall success, the shortage of manpower and increasing cost of production this year will continue to weaken the agricultural market.
