A Sudanese juvenile court has postponed a final ruling against a gymnastics coach accused of sexually abusing a child in Sennar State. The court headed by Justice Tariq Munir decided to delay the final ruling until 17 November pending further investigations.

A policeman who preferred anonymity told Radio Tamazuj from Sennar that crimes of child abuse have increased in the state where about 32 rape cases were recorded at police stations this year.

The source expected that the number could be higher than what was reported publicly, saying many families usually cover up rape crimes. He appealed to the families to report any child abuse in an attempt to control such heinous crimes against children.
