Khaled Medani, a traditional leader (omda) in Blue Nile State, has been summoned by security personnel in But on the pretext that he spoke to the media following his release from detention earlier in December.

He was one of four native administration leaders arrested after submitting a petition to the presidency, which called on the national government to intervene in a land dispute involving the state government and a lease given to investors.

Medani told Radio Tamazuj yesterday on his way to the offices of the security services that he was not going to stop speaking out, regardless of the cost.

“They asked me to come to their office. They told me that I used to collaborate with the rebels and used to talk to Radio Dabanga and Radio Tamazuj against the government. I told them, How can i keep quiet while war is finishing us?”
